Tip: Applying foundation with a sponge
If you use a sponge to apply your foundation, whether it is a liquid or powder, try moistening the sponge so it is damp and then dip it into the foundation and apply to your face. It really does make a difference. The difference is it blends the foundation nicely and you are left with a soft light feel on your face. I usually use a brush to apply foundation, but I prefer the damp sponge application now. I probably will use the brush when I'm in a rush. When I have time to take my time applying my makeup, I will definitely use a damp sponge. Try it out.

Makeup can be pricey, and not just in department store, drugstores too. So if you want to get the most for your dollar, check you local drugstore circulars to see what is on sale for the week. Most of the time you can get coupons in the Sunday paper for a specific dollar amount off certain brands of makeup.
If you feel that department store brand cosmetics are better, what you can do is check to see which brand is offering a free gift with purchase. Yes you may have to spend $30.00 or $40.00 to qualify for the free gift, but, you do get a whole bunch of goodies with that purchase. Try to by something that you know you like or will last you a long time, this way you don't feel you just picked anything to get a free gift.
